Our office is conveniently located in Mission Valley East, across from Kaiser Hospital, on the corner of Mission Gorge Rd. and Zion Ave. We have been in the same location for over 20 years. We welcome all new patients. You can usually be seen that day.

Our mission at Contemporary Health Care is to provide high-quality care to people of all ages. We strive to not only correct a person's health problems, but to educate and enlighten people so that they do not encounter similar problems in the future.

If you have been in an automobile accident, Contemporary Health Care is the treatment facility you need to be at. Dr. Lewis has a unique method of treating these soft tissue type injuries. By utilizing different chiropractic techniques along with state of the art physiotherapies, in conjunction with massage and acupuncture, he will enable you to heal in the fastest and most painfree method available. Should your condition require medical attention, Dr. Lewis can refer to one of several different physicians that can address your specific problem.

Sports medicine is also a specialty of Contemporary Health Care. Dr. Lewis has treated many professional and olympic athletes. He has been team chiropractor for several different pro and amature teams in San Diego. Currently, Dr. Lewis is the chiropractor for the Holiday Bowl and Pointsettia Bowl and was on the medical team for the World Baseball Classic.

Dr. Lewis, has developed a Fibromyalgia clinic within his office. This is a special program, designed to treat Fibromyalgia. The philosophy for this program is to utilize chiropractic, physiotherapy, traditional medicine, massage, acupuncture, exercise and nutrition to aid in the remission of Fibromyalgia. This intensive program is aimed at increasing the quality of these patients lifestyles and to teach how to deal with this disease. Many clinics utilize one or two methods for treating this condition. Dr. Lewis has incorporated many different methods for caring for these patients. It has become very sucessful and has become a model for other clinics.

MARC A. LEWIS, DC

Dr. Lewis has been in practice since 1988. After completeing his internship, he did a preceptorship, in a clinic that specialized in auto accidents and work related injuries, where he gained valuable knowledge in treating these specific soft tissue injuries. After one year of specializing in whiplash injuries, he associated with a family practice. It was in this type of practice, that Dr. Lewis began treating a wide variety of conditions. He began treating babies to grandparents and everyone in between. After one year of being an associate, Dr. Lewis opened Contemporary Health Care. His focus is on treating the whole person. By establishing a relationship with the practice member enables him to treat the person as whole and not just a condition. This helps to heal from within.

Dr. Lewis has lived in San Diego since 1966 after moving from New York with his family. He graduated from U.C.S.D. in 1985 and from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1988. He is an avid sports fan and has treated many professional and non-professional athletes.

He has been married for 30 years and has four children. He is an avid skier and loves white water rafting.

After four years at the prestigious Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and studying under some of the most well known acupuncturists in the U.S., David achieved his Masters diplomate and California license in Acupuncture and Chinese herbology. His specialties include injury and pain management, allergies, womens and geriatric health. He practices auricular, Japanese and traditional Chinese styles of acupunture and shiatsu massage.

Michael Boblett, M.T., H.H.P.

Michael has been a massage therapist for over 15 years. He additionally is certified in Rolfing, a special technique for muscular injuries. He has his Holistic Health Practioners degree.
